Dover Beach Case Study

Problem – Client required a ‘spider’ MEWP to be used 900yards along a beach, daily for 2 weeks, the spider was unable to travel on the sand as it would sink. It was unable to be lifted by an excavator due to no lifting eyes & would have ‘swayed’ excessively.

Solution - BBK provided a BV206 with a low flat-bed body, using 6m ramps the ‘spider’ was easily able to track onto the flat-bed. It was then transported along the beach & unloaded using the ramps onto plastic mats in the exact location required.

(We also transported a ‘spider’ a mile across wet fields to allow Network Rail to carry out a bridge inspection)
